Brief Description

The Private Capital Governance Program, delivered in collaboration with the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA) and the Institute for Corporate Directors (ICD), is designed to empower VC and PE investors, independent directors, and CEOs. The program includes two days of Zoom discussions (February 18 and 25, 2027) and two days of in-class sessions (March 4 and 5, 2027) and will deepen your understanding of best practices, provide insights into recent corporate governance developments, and equip you with practical skills and strategies to drive governance excellence in your corporations. The Private Capital Governance Program is a cohort-based, blended-learning program that combines self-directed asynchronous online learning with live online intensive discussions, insights from industry experts, case analyses, and simulated board meetings with other class participants. The program draws upon academic research and current governance practices, with a focus on providing participants with practical skills and strategies to enable them to make a significant difference in the governance of their portfolio companies upon program completion. In addition, the program will provide participants with the opportunity to reflect upon their own board experiences and share those experiences with their peers.
